Helloooooo Halston!

I am a huge fan of Halston, especially Halston Heritage during the reign of SJP. *tear* See photo below for the infamous dress....

And as I was flipping through the Life & Style in the grocery store line I spotted these! *GASP*
H by Halston Aida Bootie $109.99
These fabulous bordeaux suede booties with a luxurious python print heel are to die for! And the price! Ahhhhh....I may need them in every color (purple, red, tan, black). And then I thought....maybe there are others! Drumroll please.....
H by Halston Adele $50.99

H by Halston Rachel $44.99

H by Halston Brie $79.99
I just love these shoes! Does the Adele scream "I want to be the funner version of YSL's tribute sandal?" or what!?! The Brie mesh cutout bootie is nearly identical to the Jimmy Choo $975 version available at Bergdorf Goodman that I've been crushing on.  And hello Rachel, welcome to my closet! Yes, I needed an emerald velvet sandal with gold trim complete with island platform.... ;-)

Well, I highly suggest you RUN, not walk, to the nearest Baker's where these beauties are being exclusively sold. Or you can buy shamelessly via the web. Your poor feet need a Happy Halloween gift anyway!

Get The Look For Less!!!!

I am a girl that loves fur, whether it be real or faux, especially when the temps drop below freezing! And there is nothing like a fashionable and functional shoe! I introduce you to the fur trimmed bootie!!! It is oh-so-chic and ever so luxe! Anyone would assume you took out a second mortgage for something as frivolous as a furry bootie! Well, some may just have to splurge on the Fendi version but I give you the Dolce Vita bootie for a fraction of the price! Both have REAL fur and both have the buckle detail. I tell you...I see very little difference! My friend V already owns the Dolce Vita version and LOVES them so!

Fendi Fur-Front Bootie $1,750

Dolce Vita Tatum Rabbit Fur Bootie $199

What should I wear....?

I hear this question for every upcoming event and I say it just about every day. No girl wants to look out of place at an event. It is a fine line to tip toe along. You want to look fabulous and shine but you never want to appear as though you tried too hard to look that way. On the contrary no one wants to look plain and under dressed. When in doubt there are a few websites for you to consult to garner some inspiration:

Date Night Attire by TheOutnet

The Outnet not only has INCREDIBLE deals on designer duds but it also offers you the option "dress me" and you click on the event you need to be styled for. My personal favorite "dress me"? Parisian Cool! It has served as a great inspiration for me many times.

Cocktail Party by RTR

This is the genius idea for girls who never wear anything twice. I must admit, I have a hard time doing it myself. But unless you have an endless supply of $$ this can be a real problem. They allow you to rent entire outfits in 2 sizes for 10% of the cost and you simply ship it back after the event! They also offer a styling option for different events so you can use the inspiration for things if you do have something in your closet!

Style for a concert by BaubleBar

My favorite jewelry website! They offer a styling tool for just about every event from a charity lunch to a girl's night out. Most of the time I base my entire outfit on a single accessory. If you are feeling bored...jazz up an old favorite with a new bauble! A cost effective way to get an entirely new look.

Fabulous Friday Find!

DV Dolce Vita Banya Bootie $119

A sexy bootie with a pretty surprise! The DV Dolce Vita Banya Bootie!!! It's a suede bootie with a sexy heel and a leather bow in the back. The heel is 4 1/2 inches but there is a 1 inch hidden platform to soothe your aching feet! It comes in 2 colors: the black or the nude. I think both are a great addition to your fall wardrobe....just remember the nude may blend in if you haven't seen the sun, so add tights!

Fabulous Friday Find!!

Please pardon me as I pant over this Friday's item. I neeeeeeeeeed this! It is a leopard print pony hair on leather Valentino bag that can be worn at least 4 different ways!
Valentino Vavavoom Clutch $2,195
It is called the VaVaVoom clutch and it makes you feel oh so sexy! It comes in other materials and fabrics, but this is my personal fave. The gold chain can be removed, double looped or worn long across the body. The gold studded handle is the most surprising part about this bag. You can slide your hand through the handle and carry it like that. I prefer doing this without the chain attached.

I will alert you style mavens the very second this bag goes on sale! Have a fabulous weekend!

BaubleBar to Collaborate with Erickson Beamon!!!! Hallelujah!

This Friday, October 14th, is the debut of BaubleBar's collaboration with Erickson Beamon! Erickson Beamon is a luxury jewelry line known for clusters of colorful gemstones complete with a vintage edge.

Neon Lucite and diamonté crystal earrings $480

BaubleBar is my newest obsession! Use this personal invitation code to join: 17726. You'll get $10 off your first order! I would use it for this Friday (hint hint)! It is an online website that offers fabulous jewelry for great prices! I love how they group their jewelry according to the "look" whether it be ladylike collars or tribal inspirations. The best part: you'll receive your newest bauble via free shipping in a velvet bag with a handwritten note! If you follow them on twitter @baublebar, every Friday they offer buried baubles for $10! You simply follow the clues on a treasure hunt and once found you can order your buried treasure for a mere $10! This is my buried bauble from 2 weeks ago:

BaubleBar Pearl Curl Bib $34 ($10 for Buried Bauble)

Below is a sneak peak at some of the 7 pieces being offered on Friday at Pretty similar to the above pictured original piece by Erickson Beamon, right? The only difference: all of these collaboration pieces are under $250! I'm going for the colorful earrings!

I suggest you look at this collaboration very early on Friday, it's sure to go fast!

Happy Wednesday, loves!

How To Wear A Cape...And NOT Look Like A Magician or Wizard

The Correct Way to Wear a Cape!

The Wrong Way to Wear a Cape!

It is that time of year again when I want to cuddle up in a cashmere blanket, sip Pumpkin Spice Lattes and never leave my house. Since that is not in the realm of possibilities, I introduce you to....the CAPE! It does it all! You throw it on and instantly appear so very posh in the worst of weather while masking anything unsightly underneath! GENIUS! They come in a variety of fabrics, patterns, silhouettes and prices. Some are even belted if you find offense in covering your super toned waist. The trick is to pick one that suits your taste, so it isn’t difficult to wear. And keep in mind your destination! Please remember to dress for the occasion...

Here are Miss Beanie's 4 Steps to Mastering the Cape:

Step 1: Find a cape in a pattern and color scheme that will easily match the majority of your wardrobe. For example, if you wear mostly black then find a cute tweed or houndstooth pattern in black and white. Camel is always an excellent choice as it goes with just about everything.

Step 2: Make sure the cape fits you especially in the shoulders and length. It should flare out starting at the edge of your shoulder and should hit just below the widest part of your hips so that your body gets smaller from the cape down. It should be a slimming effect and not the reverse.

Step 3: Try to wear form-fitting clothing underneath the cape. There shouldn’t be bulges from underneath the cape and the bottom portion of your outfit needs to be fitted to give you a figure. Think skinny jeans or a pencil skirt.

Step 4: Finally, make sure you can get your hands out easily without being trapped. You should be able to carry your purse and other essentials without needing assistance.

After following these 4 steps, feel free to get creative and use your imagination! Think bold prints and funky necklines. Use your cape as an accessory! Let your cape be the focal point of your outfit. I personally envision myself in foggy London wearing my tweed cape with leather trim and my black riding boots. I found this at TJ Maxx for a shocking $34! Shhhhh! Don't tell...

My Cape for the Season: Tweed with Leather trim $34!! #Shocking

Below are some of my favorite capes for the season that may strike your fancy:
Live A Little Houndstooth Cape $66

Ann Taylor Loft Leather Trimmed Double Breasted Cape $94

MICHAEL Michael Kors Cape Cardigan $150
Tahari "Belle" Capelet $148

H&M Beige Wool Cape with Attached Scarf $199
Milly Sienna Belted Cape $595

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Fabulous Friday Find!

Happy Friday to all! And a big Happy Birthday to my sissy!

A new tradition has begun in Chateau du Beanie: every Friday, I will post my "must-have" item of the week. This week is an absolute show stopper! The winner is (drumroll please!):

I can see this shoe being incredibly versatile! I am definitely going to wear these mamasitas out for my upcoming birthday night out, a date night, holiday parties, and even casually with  black tights or black skinny pants. Also, a huge plus is the duality of the silver, pewter and gold. I know there are a few of you out there who will match your shoes to your jewelry and this shoe unleashes the possibilities! Mix it up! Let loose! And treat yourself. ;-) Still not sold? Should these go on sale, I will be the first to let you know!

Jason Wu to Collaborate with Target!

Attention Target Shoppers! Mark your calendars: February 2012 is the debut of the Jason Wu collaboration!

The possibility of getting my paws on Jason Wu’s February 2012 collaboration with Target gives me butterflies. I have a pension for all things girly: ruffles, bows, embellishments, lace, peplum in any form, and ladylike collars. After swooning over his NYFW S/S 2012 collection, I can only hope that this designer can do the same for his Target collection. The only question is: Will I have to fight for his collection at 8 am as I did for the Missoni collection?

Since I cannot wait until February 2012 to get Jason Wu’s affordable ladylike ensembles, I have put together a few pieces to tide me over for this Fall until then. Happy Shopping!

J'adore Paris!

All this talk of Paris recently has got me itching to visit the city of lights again. First, it was Paris Fashion Week, then my friend returned from her honeymoon in France, and finally an episode of PanAm pushed me over the edge! After watching PanAm last night, macarons and Chanel danced in my head as I laid down to sleep. As Kate and Laura landed in Paris circa 1960, it reminded me of my first time planting my stilettos on Avenue Montaigne. It makes you want to dance like Fred Astaire down the stairs of Montmartre. We strolled the infamous boulevards of Celine, Dior, Hermes, and Chanel, only taking breaks for macarons and eclairs from Pierre Herme and Ladurée. Late dinners outside were accompanied with fabulous white burgundy wine only to end the starlit night at George V Four Seasons bar with a kir royale. I awoke refreshed every morning to church bells ringing through the french doors of the balcony overlooking the tip top of the Eiffel Tower. The gorgeous mademoiselles of Le Meurice always welcomed me to breakfast in a room decorated by Salvador Dalí himself, filled with decadent chocolate croissants and raspberry jam. Ahhhhh, to be in the city of lights right this instant!

Well, in case you are one of the lucky gals to skip across the pond and saunter down Avenue Montaigne, here are just a few of my go-to spots in Paris!
  • Le Comptoir - a cafe on the left bank in the 6th arrondissement serving light lunch fare and the BEST sparkling lemonade that has ever touched my lips! Not to mention, Karl Lagerfeld himself has been known to come here for a quick bite.
  • Ladurée - these bakeries are littered all across Paris including a cart in the Charles Dugalle airport! You must treat yourself to a raspberry or salted caramel macaron. Tip: Eat them while strolling so as to appear as a true Parisian girl.

  • Hotel Le Bristol - this is where I always go to relax and have a drink in their courtyard garden. This is one of the finest hotels in all of Paris and is always crawling with celebrities and ambassadors. Always ask them for their assorted olives and potato chips to snack on. I once scoffed at the idea of eating what looked like a Lay's potato chip hip my mouth and dissolved instantly! Now, I drool with the idea of being there with those chips in sight!

  • Vintage shopping - There are two that I go to no matter what and from there as you stroll and window shop, the vintage shops will appear and beckon you in with Hermes scarves and Chanel bags.
    • Les 3 Marches de Catherine B
    • Didier Ludot
  • Colette - The mecca to all fashionistas. If the paparazzi awaiting outside doesn't clue you in to how "May-jor" this place is then I'm not sure what else to say. It houses the freshest fashions straight off the runway on mannequins for you to paruse. Extraordinary.

There are many, many more places to see but this should get you started my fellow travel mavens! Au revoir!
