A Modern Audrey Hepburn

Inspired by Holly Golightly, I styled this outfit for my sister's Christmas party! Sweet and innocent with a pearl lace jacket but the jacket could be taken off for a sexy surprise in the back for a different occasion! As Jessica Simpson says, "It's a two-fer!"  I bought this ivory lace jacket with pearl details at a sample sale in London this year. I'm thinking it will be perfect for Kate Middleton's baby shower paired with an ivory fascinator this spring! ;-)

Cozy On the Farm

So, I have this crazy idea that if I am wearing some form of snake print that it will ward off any snakes in the area. I know, I told you it was crazy! So, for my peace of mind I wore these snake print tights and my snake skin bracelet from the leather school in Florence, Italy. Speaking of tights, if you are looking for a crazy design and you have some extra money to spend, check out Wolford! They have the most intricate designs and they are super luxe!

Sweater Dress - Victorias Secret, Fur Snood - Calvin Klein via TJ Maxx similar, Horsebit Belt - N Y and Co similar, Tights - Wolford, Riding Boots - Banana Republic, Purse - Louis Vuitton, Bracelets - Vintage Gold, Snake print from Italy, Zipper from The Caravan similar, Ring - Aurelie Bidermann similar, Aviators - Michael Kors

This ring is so special to me and it is by such a great designer, Aurelie Bidermann. She used real leaves and dipped them in 18K gold and layered them to create this ring. One of her timeless collections, Vintage Lace, is another one of my must haves. She dips vintage lace in 18K gold to make cuffs and rings! GORGEOUS!

Stay warm out there!

Add a POP of Red!

As I browsed Pinterest this morning, I realized that everything that I was repinning was with a POP of red. So I decided to create an ode to Red, Rojo, Rouge. Take a look in your closet and pull out one piece of red and make that your statement piece…everything else should be like a backdrop. I personally like the red against the winter white and black.

Leather and Sass: 3 Ways

This past week I had a predicament that every girl dreads: 3 parties + 1 day + not enough time to change! With the help of Tiffany over at Tiffany Style Blog and Daisy over at Nouveau Boutique, I found the perfect solution. Wear the same ruffled top, black leather pleated skirt and tights but change the jacket  and accessories. Here we go!

Outfit #1: Ruffle Top: old similar here, Black Vegan Leather Pleated Skirt: Forever 21, Pink Silk + Leather Blazer: FanPlace London, Tights: Simply Vera Vera Wang, Boots: Michael Kors, Purse: Valentino, Cuff: D&G old but similar here, Vintage Earrings and Brooch: Nouveau Boutique

Check out the amazing tuxedo stripe on these tights! LOVE!

Jewel tone details! The brooch is actually a clip on earring!

Outfit #2: I simply changed out the earrings and brooch for a crazy zebra necklace and subtle black and crystal earrings and swapped out the purse for a smaller version. Vintage Zebra Pearl Necklace: Nouveau Boutique, Vintage Earrings: Nouveau Boutique, Purse: via TJ Maxx

This cuff is old but from Forever 21! STEAL!

Outfit #3: Thrown by Ella Vive Boutique to benefit Toys for Tots! Here I am with some fellow fashionistas, Sawyer wearing a Moschino blouse and Burberry bag and Jodie wearing a gorgeous fur vest and neon blouse! I swapped the boots for some Valentino booties (too bad you can't see them) and the pink blazer for this oxblood one with leather lapels and opted for a funky vintage purse. Blazer: Fab'rik also available here, Purse: Vintage see other post here, Booties: Valentino old but similar here.

Here with style maven Carmen in her fabulous sweater from the TopShop + Nordstrom collab! I love the jeweled collar and it has a sexy open back! She paired it with cool leather leggings! Get Carmen's sweater here!
Here is a close up of the accessories I wore with this last outfit. I wore this beautiful arrow brooch on the lapel of my blazer and these earrings for the Ella Vive Party! Both are from Nouveau Boutique and available for sale! TheVintage Arrow  Brooch is $60 and the Vintage Earrings are signed Weiss and are $58.

Leibster Award Nomination!

I am so honored that I was given the Liebster Award by Noor's Place. Check out her blog here! (P.S. she has the craziest mouse icon EVER!) The Leibster Award is for inspiring up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. She asked me 11 questions about myself and asked me to also share 11 interesting facts about myself as well. Here we go!

My eleven questions:

What do you prefer ? Tumblr or Twitter? I prefer Twitter.
What's your favourite fragrance? J'adore Dior
If you want to dwell in any city of the world, which city that could be? London. I was married there this year as a matter of fact! For its history that is alive and well, the accent (care for a spot of tea?) and the architecture. I feel as though I'm in Downton Abby whenever I am there walking through the streets.
Who's your favourite singer/band? I'm currently obsessed with the Black Keys.
Any celeb role model? My fashion role model is Olivia Palermo for her ability to mix and match textures and prints while maintaining a feminine aesthetic.
High heels or sneakers? Always, high heels. The higher the better!
If you get a chance to be starred in a movie , who would be your co-star? My life might as well be a comedy. Everyone always says, "That could ONLY happen to YOU!" So, I would have to say Ben Stiller.
What's your biggest passion? I have two: teaching and fashion. Kids are so pure-hearted and will always be your best critic given their honesty. Fashion because it allows you to express yourself without ever saying a word.
What's your biggest fear?I am terrified of snakes. I have a snakeskin bag and I had nightmares that it was coming alive to eat me. I couldn't wear it for months. I've finally convinced myself that by wearing the bag it will scare other snakes away from me. Ridiculous, I know!
What's your favourite brand? Valentino! Valentino's trademark red and glamourous gowns always send me into a frenzy. I especially love the mix of feminine ruffles with edgy studs as of late.
Most important person in your life? My Aunt V. She raised me and is the most amazing woman EVER! She is also the reason I am obsessed with fashion. She always ensured that I was dressed to the nines for any occasion from a very small age. At the age of 4, I informed her that I would require a "fancy" dress for a holiday party and she obliged. It happened to be red and sequined a la Valentino! The rest is history.

11 facts about Miss Beanie:
  • The name Miss Beanie came from my husband (boyfriend at the time) who said I was a jumping bean, a green bean and a string bean. Ultimately, it morphed into my nickname, Miss Beanie.
  • I am a pescatarian and have been since the age of 7, meaning that I choose not to eat meat with the exception of fish.
  • I am obsessed with french macarons from Laduree (not to be confused with macaroons). I even had a tower of them in lieu of a wedding cake!
  • French fries are my weakness.
  • I drink my coffee black!
  • If I could live in any era it would definitely be in the roaring twenties without the depression. Sequins and fringe are fine by me!
  • My favorite hotel in the world is Claridge's. They even offer an Audrey Hepburn package or a fashion week package. Every year their Christmas tree is designed by a fashion designer…last year was Lanvin!
  • Pink is my favorite color.
  • My favorite shoe designer is Nicholas Kirkwood. Check out my interview with him here.
  • I adore elephants but only with their trunks held up, which is a sign of good luck. It is on my bucket list to ride an elephant while wearing a beautiful jeweled sari.
  • I am a science nerd. I majored in Microbiology. Strange, I know.

Neon Trees

I'm bringing some of my bright summer wardrobe out for the fall! I got the neon flats and bracelet this summer from Ann Taylor and I just couldn't put them into storage just yet. This sweater immediately cried out to be paired with the neon cap toes flats because they both share the same highlighter hue. Meant to be? I think so…. What piece in your closet are you not ready to store away?
