City Chic Done Right at DKNY Fall 2012 Show

DKNY's show was a scene created to look like a fashionista walking down city streets. Models entered the warehouse space from the street with a typical NYC yellow taxi framing the doorway. The runway created intersections with models crossing paths. It was so very New York.

The overall look was very feminine with a tough edge this upcoming fall. Monochromatic looks in all black and bordeaux became interesting with differences in texture. She mixed it up using fur, leather, wool and even alligator! Color blocking from spring was taken to a whole new level by blocking the fabrics instead. A fur and wool blocked jacket, wool suit with leather piping, or even a mesh blocked dress were all spotted.

A wide figure flattering belt gave this bulky fur coat shape and the peplum hemline gave this tough alligator skirt movement and shape.

Matching suit wear, a trend seen all over the runways for this fall, was given a feminine twist with bold asian-inspired floral prints and a tie neck blouse.

Donna grounded each look with platform ankle wrap booties complete with some metal bead detailing. A definite fall must-have!

Take a note from DKNY this fall and rock colored fur, wide belts, and feminine hemlines for a minimalistic flirty look!
