Leibster Award Nomination!

I am so honored that I was given the Liebster Award by Noor's Place. Check out her blog here! (P.S. she has the craziest mouse icon EVER!) The Leibster Award is for inspiring up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. She asked me 11 questions about myself and asked me to also share 11 interesting facts about myself as well. Here we go!

My eleven questions:

What do you prefer ? Tumblr or Twitter? I prefer Twitter.
What's your favourite fragrance? J'adore Dior
If you want to dwell in any city of the world, which city that could be? London. I was married there this year as a matter of fact! For its history that is alive and well, the accent (care for a spot of tea?) and the architecture. I feel as though I'm in Downton Abby whenever I am there walking through the streets.
Who's your favourite singer/band? I'm currently obsessed with the Black Keys.
Any celeb role model? My fashion role model is Olivia Palermo for her ability to mix and match textures and prints while maintaining a feminine aesthetic.
High heels or sneakers? Always, high heels. The higher the better!
If you get a chance to be starred in a movie , who would be your co-star? My life might as well be a comedy. Everyone always says, "That could ONLY happen to YOU!" So, I would have to say Ben Stiller.
What's your biggest passion? I have two: teaching and fashion. Kids are so pure-hearted and will always be your best critic given their honesty. Fashion because it allows you to express yourself without ever saying a word.
What's your biggest fear?I am terrified of snakes. I have a snakeskin bag and I had nightmares that it was coming alive to eat me. I couldn't wear it for months. I've finally convinced myself that by wearing the bag it will scare other snakes away from me. Ridiculous, I know!
What's your favourite brand? Valentino! Valentino's trademark red and glamourous gowns always send me into a frenzy. I especially love the mix of feminine ruffles with edgy studs as of late.
Most important person in your life? My Aunt V. She raised me and is the most amazing woman EVER! She is also the reason I am obsessed with fashion. She always ensured that I was dressed to the nines for any occasion from a very small age. At the age of 4, I informed her that I would require a "fancy" dress for a holiday party and she obliged. It happened to be red and sequined a la Valentino! The rest is history.

11 facts about Miss Beanie:
  • The name Miss Beanie came from my husband (boyfriend at the time) who said I was a jumping bean, a green bean and a string bean. Ultimately, it morphed into my nickname, Miss Beanie.
  • I am a pescatarian and have been since the age of 7, meaning that I choose not to eat meat with the exception of fish.
  • I am obsessed with french macarons from Laduree (not to be confused with macaroons). I even had a tower of them in lieu of a wedding cake!
  • French fries are my weakness.
  • I drink my coffee black!
  • If I could live in any era it would definitely be in the roaring twenties without the depression. Sequins and fringe are fine by me!
  • My favorite hotel in the world is Claridge's. They even offer an Audrey Hepburn package or a fashion week package. Every year their Christmas tree is designed by a fashion designer…last year was Lanvin!
  • Pink is my favorite color.
  • My favorite shoe designer is Nicholas Kirkwood. Check out my interview with him here.
  • I adore elephants but only with their trunks held up, which is a sign of good luck. It is on my bucket list to ride an elephant while wearing a beautiful jeweled sari.
  • I am a science nerd. I majored in Microbiology. Strange, I know.

Neon Trees

I'm bringing some of my bright summer wardrobe out for the fall! I got the neon flats and bracelet this summer from Ann Taylor and I just couldn't put them into storage just yet. This sweater immediately cried out to be paired with the neon cap toes flats because they both share the same highlighter hue. Meant to be? I think so…. What piece in your closet are you not ready to store away?

Von Maur Grand Opening! Spectacular, Spectacular!

Von Maur, the department store giant out of Iowa, held their grand opening party in Atlanta at Perimeter Mall last Saturday!! Unfortunately, I was out of town but fellow fashionista, Christina, went and shared her photos with me!
Meet Christina! She'll be a famous stylist one day!
Christina said the customer service and beautiful displays were unbelievable! She felt pampered and special even on a night when the store was crowded and busy.
Von Maur's principle: Christina delved right in to this request!
Fur is a HUGE trend this fall! Von Maur had an entire section of fur, both real and faux. See a similar fur vest here.

This is such a great look for fall! I'm obsessed with foxes! Remember my graphic tee post? Check it out here!
Fox Sweater - $39 here

A great example of how to wear print on print! Wear in similar colors and break it up with a touch of chambray!
Von Maur prides themselves on their displays. The Children's section was quite spectacular and created a fun experience for children to enjoy.

The children's section was quite the scene! Check out this huge tree!

Roaring Twenties Evening Wear just in time for the holidays! Dress by Sue Wong similar here

Christina loved this "Gem" of a handbag by Mary Frances, similar here! Great accessory for a LBD!

A night at the opera or symphony would be a great opportunity to wear one of these bedazzled beauties by Adrianna Papell, similar here!

Be sure to check out the newest Von Maur if you are in Atlanta, or one of their other 27 locations! Their online selection is quite impressive as well as offering FREE delivery and gift wrap year round!

A special thanks to Christina for scouting out the newest shopping hotspot in Atlanta!

Jaguars + Tweed

Tweed Riding Coat - Guess via Nordstrom Rack available here and similar here, Blouse - Ann Taylor old but similar here, Black Leather Leggings - via Last Call similar here, Boots - Michael Kors via TJMaxx similar here, Purse - YSL, Brooch and Ring- Nouveau Boutique, Aviators - Michael Kors

Love the leather details on this jacket. The elbow patches, pockets and shoulders are all accented with leather!

The brooch is available for sale through Nouveau Boutique for $25! Love the green eyes!

This vintage jaguar ring is also available for sale through Nouveau Boutique and is $65. Check out the ruby eyes! The diamond band is my own and was used to keep the ring on my finger because it was a tad big -- useful idea for those rings you gotta have but just don't fit!

Attention all Isabel Marant fans out there!

I stumbled upon these boots at Bebe while searching for this amazing studded leather skirt (see it here) and I couldn't believe my eyes! They will surely grace the legs of celebrities and fashionistas this season (I call it on Kristen Stewart). For nearly a tenth of the price, check them out!

Corto Moltedo Mania

Check out these Susan Clutches here

Here are my promised pictures of the Corto Moltedo boutique in Paris! It is such a cool design concept and I love that he showcases his bags as works of art, as they should be! There are only one of each bag in the boutique and you can see where my dragon clutch was taken from!

How cool is this envelope clutch?!? I love the frog on a lily pad and the painted effect on the snakeskin. Monet-esque perhaps?

Bosco Envelope Clutch - buy it here

The excitement of my dragon clutch was unbearable…jumping up and down outside the boutique.

My first Corto Moltedo bag back in 2009…the infamous python with ruffle trim. I still wear this bag often and it has held up in perfect condition!

Elisabeth Python Ruffle Bag - buy it here

Inside one of my favorite hotels in Paris, Le Meurice. In the lobby you can carve into the Ice Wall. Do you see "Miss Beanie Was Here"?

I hope I have converted you into a Corto Moltedo lover! Join the madness! Check him out at www.corto.com!
