I left it behind with the intention of finding the perfect top to go with it… Here is what I found! What do you think? Lemon and Turquoise -- are they the perfect match or not your thing? Let me know your thoughts, in the mean time I will be doing crunches getting ready to bare my belly!

After making this Wednesday Wishlist, I realized that I have an obsession with birds, tassels and pom poms (really any embellishment). I cannot get enough of this finch print Marc Jacobs retro bikini that can be mixed and matched with different silhouettes. I actually saw a one piece also that was super adorable. And as for my upcoming Cloffice (closet and office combined), these little birds would be perfect on my book shelf as book ends.

What about you, what trend can't you get enough of this summer? What is on your wishlist this week?!?

Meet Moby!

So, I have a tendency to love accessories that are in the shape of animals. I also thrive on vintage shopping. A while back I stumbled into one of my favorite vintage stores outside of Atlanta, Fleu de Coop, and I stumbled upon this adorable straw clutch in the shape of a fish. I have named him Moby and am so excited to reveal him!! Meet Moby! I cannot wait to wear him out soon so be on the lookout for more of Moby to come!

Day at the Lake

I've got the summer fever, so I headed to the lake for a little R&R. Having just seen The Great Gatsby, I naturally pulled all things inspired by Daisy Buchanan for my bag! What's in my bag you ask?!? A fedora, black lace scarf, slinky lace dress, lace cardigan, opera length pearls, python bag and python shoes. Pearls and heels don't typically go hand in hand with the lake house but I'm thinking Daisy would certainly wear them so I did too!

Dress: Love on a Hanger via Nordstrom (similar), Cardigan: TJ Maxx, Pearls: Vintage, Fedora: Ralph Lauren, Shoes: BCBG MaxAzria, Bag: Corto Moltedo, Bracelets: BaubleBar, Capri, Scarf: Petanu

What's on your summer wishlist for your vacations?

Flower Power

Shirt - H&M, Skirt - Karen Millen, Shoes - Brian Atwood, Purse  - Louis Vuitton, Cameo Brooch - Vintage, Earrings - Tharos Bijoux Brujas in Florence, Italy
Inspired by all of the gorgeous blooms out right now, I pulled out this floral blouse and went to Sunday Brunch! I called this skirt my Kim Kardashian meets Kate Middleton skirt, I wore it all over London last year. I decided to pull out some oldies but goodies like these Brian Atwood shoes that hadn't been worn in forever and I pulled out some of my beloved jewels for the occasion.

Are you inspired by all of the fabulous blooms going on in nature right now? I know the waterfall garden here is making me want a certain pair of pants from H&M!

Look for Less: Lace Espadrille

Look for Less: Lace Espadrille

Valentino - $485, Bettye Muller - $150, xoxo - $29

We all know my love for all things Valentino and this lace number has been on my radar for sometime. When Tiffany of Tiffany Style Blog was inquiring what shoes I would wear to Spain, this shoe immediately came to mind! She is going on the trip of a lifetime to Spain, France and Italy and it made me conjure up all of the wonderful shoes I would pack in my bag. Well, after browsing I found several other options for much less!

What do you think?!? Is this shoe worth the splurge or should I save my pennies?

Great Gatsby

Dress - Sue Wong, Shoes - Nicholas Kirkwood, Purse - Vintage, Fur Stole - Vintage, Earrings - present from the hubs, Necklace - Charming Charlie's, Bracelet - wedding gift from hubs, Ring - Vintage, Headpiece - DIY
So, this past week I was given the most awesome opportunity to go see the screening of The Great Gatsby movie in 3D before it came to theaters thanks to Oh Nikka! Tiffany of TiffanyStyleBlog came too and we had a blast! We dressed up and took loads of pictures to get us in the mood! I loved every minute and couldn't wait to see more of Daisy Buchanan's outfits! They were incredible! Seriously, the first scene when you see Daisy for the first time took my breath away! I was already overly obsessed with the deco era and had loads of flapper fashions in my closet so this was the perfect opportunity for me to pull it all out!

So, I totally took a vintage deco necklace and attached an elastic headband to the clasps of the necklace and secured it to my head. Voila! Deco headpiece and necklace in one!

Pink Pants

Polka Dot Top - J. Crew, Pink Pants - Talbots, Shoes - Kate Spade (similar for less), Purse - London Fog via TJ Maxx, Necklace - H&M, Earrings - Stein Mart, Sunglasses - Amazon, Lucite Cuffs - H&M
This look was inspired by Style Me Friday over on The Fashionista Next Door! I originally wore a similar outfit to this one at Fashion Week but never brought out my loud pink pants again. And then I saw Eboni's post and I knew they had to make a comeback! I am also breaking out these Prada Baroque "inspired" sunglasses….I felt the need to try them out given their crazy look and widespread popularity. I'm always willing to try out a trend but not always willing to pay $300 to do so especially when I'm famous for losing and breaking sunglasses. I'm not sure that I am in love with these glasses on me but Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia and Rach of Pink Peonies certainly rocks them and maybe you could too! They are super discounted on Amazon now.

Check out this impressive bun and chandelier earring pic! It reminds me of this picture from my Pinterest page that I've been dying to recreate!

What is a trend that you've been dying to try that you wish would come in a more inexpensive option? Check out this week's #StyleMeFriday and Link Up!

Helping Hart Challenge at SCAD

I recently had the great honor of judging a fashion competition hosted by Helping Hart at SCAD here in Atlanta. Helping Hart is a charity organization born out of the tragedy of Hurricane Sandy. Their mission is to donate an article of clothing for each item purchased from HelpingHart.com. The teams of students had 72 hours to take a box of men's clothing from Hartwell Industries and transform them into new garments with Helping Hart's mission of giving back in the face of tragedy in mind. All of the teams went above and beyond and really impressed myself and fellow judges.

The winning team, Team FNX, with the designer explaining how she created the garments.

Myself and fellow judge, Allison Mitchell, with the creators of the event.

The judges for the evening.

With some fellow fashionistas and bloggers: Cheryl Webster of The KaShonna Files, Me, Allison Mitchell of Jezebel Magazine and Tiffany Davis Olson of Tiffany Style Blog.

The winning team with the men behind Hartwell Industries.
It was such a difficult decision to choose the winning team with such great talent present, but ultimately Team FNX (pronounced Phoenix) claimed victory. Their creativity and ability to create such quality garments in a limited amount of time proved to be the winning factor. They produced feminine garments complete with ruffles and dip dyed details out of masculine articles of clothing including a golf shirt and a white men's button down. They went so far as to have a photo shoot, create hang tags with a logo and had a beautiful vision with a clear story of a phoenix rising from the rubble of tragedy. Congratulations to Team FNX and many thanks to SCAD and Hartwell Industries for the amazing competition and opportunity!

A special thanks to Shawn Warren Imaging for all of the above photographs and documenting the event!

Doggies on the Catwalk 2013

This past Friday, I had the BEST time attending the 6th Annual Doggies on the Catwalk charity event benefitting 1873 Society with proceeds going to the Atlanta Humane Society. It featured Atlanta celebrities like Justin Farmer, Jovita Moore, Holly Firfir, Tracye Hutchins and Karyn Greer all wearing spring and summer fashions from Tootsies and Bloomingdale's. The sponsors were incredible including the W Hotel in Buckhead, Cook Hall provided catering and Hypnotiq provided delicious drinks! Here are some highlights of the show and my superlatives from the night!
